This weekend I celebrate my birthday. However, this year's festivities look a bit different from what I had envisioned it would be. I will be missing my daughter and the plans that I made are not going to happen. It really is ok, though.
In a world that often prioritizes material possessions and busyness, I am working on embracing a slow living lifestyle. This encourages me to live with greater intention, focusing on experiences and connections rather than accumulating more stuff that ultimately adds little value to my life.
Amidst the chaos and uncertainty that seems to permeate our current times, I have made a deliberate choice to cultivate mindfulness and simplify my life. The digital landscape can often feel overwhelming, so I have significantly reduced my online presence. Instead, I have rekindled my love for reading, which has always been a passion of mine. Losing myself in the pages of a good book not only provides an escape but also allows me to explore new ideas and a getaway, while learning the world around me.
There is a sense of comfort that I also find while in my garden. It has become a sanctuary for me, a place where I can connect with nature and observe the simple yet beautiful rhythms of life. Watching the birds as they nurture their young and seeing bees diligently buzzing around my flowers brings me peace and joy. These small moments in nature remind me that even in the face of adversity, there is beauty and hope. I believe that thought the world is scary and challenging right now we will emerge on the other side with a deeper sense of compassion and understanding for one another.
But What About Hippie Momma?
Hippie Momma is who I am and will continue to be. She truly believes in peace and love for all and that we are all deserving of both. I am committed to continuously learning about new essential oils and ingredients and delivering the best products for you. During my vacation this week, I will be spending time in the HMA kitchen, creating and replenishing products, learning about new ingredients and refreshing my supplies.
I'll be attending Belleville Faire on August 31st. This major event will take place at Artsquest in Bethlehem on that day. There's something for everyone, food, music, and many vendors and handcrafters, so make plans to spend the day with us! We'll have a variety of fantastic products available for you! I'm excited to see everyone there!
Following that, we'll dive straight into pumpkin season, with the holidays just around the corner!
August....
August has always signaled the onset of summer's end. It's the season for the last barbecues, parties, and leisurely days.
I love the sunshine, the nighttime chorus of cicadas, and the aroma of a campfire. Let's make the most of this month, indulging in self-care, basking in the sun, savoring ice cream, and avoiding the stress of the next season.
